Egg-celent Competition

If you follow me on any kind of social media, you know that we have recently started a chicken farming business. My mom has become borderline obsessed with these chickens.. (oh and turkeys, and baby ducks) My mom and aunt call themselves the “Sister Chicks” and look forward to feeding, watering, and seeing their ”girls” every morning and night. They even have aprons to collect there eggs!

(They are the most adorable dorks!)

Today, we made four different kinds of deviled eggs... which I have not been a fan of until recently because I don’t really like mayo or mustard but DUDEEE we made some REALLY yummy ones.

We had a “competition” or “taste test” with the whole gang to see which kind was the best.

We started off (of course) by boiling the eggs in water with salt for 15 minutes. Then, we peeled the eggs, seperated the yolk, and diced them into halves.

Here were the four types:

Avocado, mayo, French‘s mustard, sour cream, Lawery’s salt, pepper, cooked egg yolk of hard boiled eggs

Southwest mustard, candied jalapeños (chopped), mayonnaise, and cooked egg yolk

bread and butter pickles (chopped), cooked egg yolks, mayonnaise, pepper, and horseradish mustard.

cooked egg yolks, candied jalapeños (chopped), mayonnaise, horseradish mustard, and pepper.

Before & after being blended!

Lastly we topped them off by caramelizing onions in brown sugar and butter, and with pieces of crispy bacon.

Here is the final product!!!

In conclusion, #2 with the southwest mustard and candied jalapeños, was votes the BEST!!! We had such a blast doing this together!!! What is next “competition“ you may ask.... stay tuned!!😉
